2023 · colour · FR · Fr, En/en · 30’ · World premiere · In competition

Elia is a cellist. Severe tinnitus prevents her from playing. As she searches for its origin, new sounds begin to appear—within her and around her. These sounds will offer her a glimpse into another reality, inhabited by ghosts and voices.

Director’s biography

Laura Sellies is a graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Lyon and of the Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of Paris 8. Since then she has been developing a body of work in which installation, film, performance, writing and sound share equal space, a space that is only truly defined by the viewer’s attention. For an evening, a day, or the duration of an exhibition, she has worked in venues such as the Palais de Tokyo, the Centre Pompidou, the Monnaie de Paris, the Dakar Biennale, the Wifredo Lam art centre in Havana, the Salon de Montrouge, the BF15 in Lyon, Triangle in Marseille and the Institut d’art contemporain in Villeurbanne. Her work has been supported by a residency at the Académie de France in Rome, Villa Médicis.
